Liang's Garden, Classical garden in Foshan, China

Liang's Garden, at 93 Xianfeng Guda Road in the Peide community of Zumiao Subdistrict, Chancheng District, Foshan, is one of Guangdong's four famous gardens. Its named structures include the Twelve-Stone House, Qunxing Thatched Cottage, Fenjiang Thatched Cottage and Hanxiang House, set among residences, pagodas, sculptures and lakes with trees, shrubs and flowers.

Construction of this private garden began in 1796 during the Qing Dynasty and continued for decades as successive members of the Liang family added to its development. The project evolved gradually as the family extended and refined the grounds over time.

The garden's name comes from the Liang family, whose uncles and nephews — Liang Airu, Liang Jiuzhang, Liang Jiuhua and Liang Jiutu — built it as a private garden. Its named structures include the Twelve-Stone House, Qunxing Thatched Cottage, Fenjiang Thatched Cottage and Hanxiang House. Since 1997 it has served as a Foshan patriotic education base.

The garden is located in Chancheng District and is easily accessible on foot, with most areas open to visitors. You may encounter ongoing restoration work in some sections during your visit.

The garden blends multiple architectural approaches rather than following a single design method, which sets it apart from other classical Chinese gardens. This variety means each section offers a different experience as you move through the grounds.
