Zhujiang Bridge

Zhujiang Bridge is a vehicle and pedestrian crossing spanning about 1,240 meters across the Pearl River. It stretches between Kecun in Haizhu District and Zhujiang New Town in Tianhe District, linking two distinctly different areas of the city.

The structure was built in 1960 and was the first bridge to cross the Pearl River in Guangzhou. It marked a turning point for local mobility and allowed direct connection between the two banks on this route for the first time.

The bridge connects two distinct districts and functions as a daily meeting point for people from different neighborhoods. It has become a symbol of connection between Haizhu and Tianhe, woven into the city's everyday rhythm.

You can reach the bridge via Guangzhou Avenue and it is accessible for both cars and pedestrians. Several viewpoints along the river offer good spots for photographing the surroundings and the water.

Built in 1960, the bridge maintained its original core structure while being continuously renewed and modernized over the decades. This makes it a striking example of how old infrastructure can keep pace with modern demands.
