Temple of the Six Banyan Trees

The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees features a 57-meter-tall Flower Pagoda with eight sides and nine tiers, displaying traditional Chinese architectural elements.

Built in 537 during the Liang Dynasty, the temple received its current name from poet Su Shi during the Song Dynasty when he inscribed characters on the entrance.

The temple maintains an active Buddhist community where monks perform daily rituals, meditation sessions, and ceremonies throughout traditional Chinese religious calendar.

The temple complex includes multiple halls for prayer, a pagoda accessible to visitors, and information displays in multiple languages explaining Buddhist traditions.

The temple houses the largest ancient bronze Buddha statue in Guangdong Province, installed in 1983 within the main Mahavira Hall.
