Yuexiushan Stadium, Football stadium in Yuexiu Hill, Guangzhou, China

Yuexiushan Stadium is a football ground at 34 Yingyuan Road, below Zhenhai Tower on the southern slope of Yuexiu Hill in Guangzhou. Its north, west and south stands are built into the hillside at a 45-degree slope, giving a steep downward view of the pitch; the seven-storey entrance tower on the east side dates from 1956. A 105 by 68 metre football pitch is ringed by a 400-metre blue running track, and seating now numbers about 18,000 to 20,000.

The facility was built in 1950 on the site of a former Qing dynasty ammunition depot. It has undergone several renovations over the decades to become a modern sports venue.

Locals call going to a match "seung saan tai bo" — going up the hill to watch football — a pastime popular in the 1960s and 1970s. The stadium also hosted mass civic rallies, including National Day and May Day gatherings, and in 1953 a city opium-prohibition meeting. Its east gate tower, built in 1956, houses the Guangzhou Football Association.

The stadium is at 34 Yingyuan Road, below Zhenhai Tower on the south slope of Yuexiu Hill. Take Guangzhou Metro Line 2 to Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station. The ground is built into a narrow valley, with the north, west and south stands on natural 45-degree slopes and the seven-storey entrance tower on the east side.
