Relic of Yaozhou

The stone carvings here feature calligraphy and poetry from the Song period, reflecting the literary traditions that visitors can still observe on the site. These inscriptions reveal how scholars and artists valued this location as a place to express their talents.

The site is open to visitors and has seating areas with educational displays explaining how the location changed over time. Comfortable shoes are recommended since exploring the grounds involves walking through a garden layout.

The name Yaozhou comes from the practice of making medicinal elixirs using herbs specially grown on the estate, a purpose that drew scholars and artists to the location for centuries. This reputation for botanical knowledge shaped how people viewed and used this place throughout history.
