Yuejiang Lou

Yuejiang Lou is a multi-story tower built with wooden architecture that rises above the Xijiang River, featuring intricate carvings and traditional curved rooflines on its exterior. Each level offers distinct vistas of the river landscape and surrounding terrain from different angles.

The tower was built during the Tang Dynasty, initially serving as a military watchtower. Over time, it became a gathering place where scholars and poets found inspiration and left their creative mark on the structure.

The tower is open during daylight hours and is easily reached by public bus or taxi from downtown Zhaoqing. Visit in early morning or late afternoon when lighting is especially good for viewing the river and surroundings.
