Qingyun Temple

Qingyun Temple is a large Buddhist temple in Dinghu District with multiple halls arranged along a central axis in a traditional pattern. The layout includes several courtyards that guide visitors through different sections of the complex in an organized way.

The temple was founded in 1636 based on an earlier site called Lianhua'an and received an imperial visit in 1649 that confirmed its importance. This early recognition established it as a significant location for Buddhist practice in the region.

The temple functions as a living center of Chan Buddhism where monks carry out daily practices and ceremonies that visitors can observe. These ongoing religious activities give the space a genuine spiritual character that connects past traditions to the present.

The Drum and Bell towers preserve architectural features from the Qing dynasty period and represent key elements of classical Chinese temple design. These towers once served practical purposes in daily monastic life and remain distinctive focal points within the complex.
