VGP Universal Kingdom, Amusement park in Injambakkam, Chennai, India.
VGP Universal Kingdom spreads along the East Coast Road and includes rides, water slides, and themed zones arranged across open grounds and covered pavilions. The layout divides the park into sections, each with its own focus, from coastal viewpoints to indoor halls.
The site began as a beachfront space and was redeveloped in 1997 to include multiple zones under the management of the VGP Group. Later additions brought water sections and indoor areas, expanding the range beyond the original attractions.
The complex sits along a coast where local families gather on weekends and holidays, turning the area into a meeting point for several neighborhoods. Tamil influences show in some of the food stalls and occasional live shows, offering flavors and performances familiar to the region.
Access is direct from the main coastal road, with large parking areas near the entrance for vehicles. Visitors often spend several hours here, with mornings generally less crowded than afternoons and holiday periods.
A Snow Kingdom section allows visitors to experience winter conditions in a city where temperatures rarely drop below 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The park also retains an older beach section that predates the transformation into a theme park, offering a glimpse of the original coastal layout.
