Tigania beach, Sandy beach in Sithonia, Greece
Tigania Beach has three small coves with soft golden sand along the eastern shore of Sithonia peninsula. These coves sit between Klimataria and Kriaritsi, each one framed by rocks that give each inlet its own character.
The area around Tigania took the name Ghost City because construction projects were planned over many decades but never finished. These abandoned plans left their mark on how the region developed and looks today.
Small tavernas near the shore cook fresh seafood landed daily by local fishing boats, following recipes passed down through generations. Diners sit outdoors and watch the water while eating, which is how people in this region spend their evenings.
The beach is reachable through streets that lead to a parking area directly above the shoreline. From there, you can walk down to reach any of the three coves without difficulty.
The water displays different shades of blue, shifting from light to deep, depending on the depth and the rocky seabed. This color change helps swimmers see where rocks are hiding beneath the surface.
