Garden of Floridablanca, Public garden in Carmen district, Murcia, Spain
The Garden of Floridablanca extends across 11,330 square meters in a central area of Murcia, featuring ficus trees, tipuanas, jacarandas, and poplars.
Established in 1786 as Poplar Grove del Carmen, this garden holds the distinction of being the first public garden to open in Spain.
The garden contains monuments dedicated to Count Floridablanca, poet Jara Carrillo, sculptor Antonio Garrigós, and includes the 1748 doorway from the old abattoir.
The Garden of Floridablanca opens daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, providing wheelchair accessibility and adapted parking facilities for visitors.
From within the garden grounds, visitors observe the complete façade of Iglesia del Carmen while exploring paths among centuries-old trees.
