Garden of Floridablanca, Public garden in Carmen district, Murcia, Spain

The Garden of Floridablanca is a green space in central Murcia filled with large trees including ficus, tipuanas, jacarandas, and poplars. Paths wind through the canopy, creating shaded spots for walking and sitting.

This space began in 1786 as a poplar grove and was the first public garden of its kind to open in Spain. Over time it became an important meeting place for Murcia's residents.

The garden bears the name of Count Floridablanca, an important figure in Murcia's past. Monuments within honor the poet Jara Carrillo and sculptor Antonio Garrigós, keeping memories of notable people from the region alive.

The garden is open daily to visitors and features paths that are easy to walk. Parking and facilities for people with mobility needs are available, so everyone can explore comfortably.

From certain spots in the garden, the complete façade of the Iglesia del Carmen comes into view, rising at the edge of the grounds. This sight connects the green space with an important building and creates a special view of the city's religious architecture.
