Playa Venao, Surfing beach in Los Santos Province, Panama.

Playa Venao is a surfing beach in Los Santos Province with a grey-sand shoreline backed by green hills. The crescent-shaped cove features waves breaking in multiple directions along the Pacific coast and stretches for several kilometers.

The beach was once an isolated coastal area until international surfers discovered its consistent waves in recent decades. The growing reputation gradually transformed it into a recognized surfing destination on Panama's southern shore.

The beach draws together surfers from around the world and Panamanian visitors who share a passion for the ocean. People of different backgrounds gather here to ride the waves and enjoy the relaxed coastal lifestyle.

The best conditions for surfing occur during the rainy season when waves are larger and more consistent. The area becomes quieter during dry months, though the waves are smaller, making it suitable for different skill levels.

From July to September, migrating whales pass through the Pacific waters near the shoreline and share the ocean with surfers. This rare encounter with these massive marine mammals while riding waves creates a memorable experience for visitors.
