Asman Garh Palace, Gothic Revival palace in Malakpet, Hyderabad, India

Asman Garh Palace is a Gothic Revival structure rising on a hillock with views across the city from its elevated position. The building displays granite facades, arched windows, Corinthian columns, and symmetrically arranged staircases that lead to a verandah overlooking Hyderabad.

The structure was built in 1885 by Sir Asman Jah of the Paigah family and later came under the ownership of Mir Mahboob Ali Khan, the sixth Nizam. This change in ownership marked an important shift in how the building was used and maintained.

The building blends European castle design with local architectural traditions visible in its decorative details and stonework. The distinctively shaped entrance gate added later reflects how the structure evolved over time to match its owner's preferences.

The building now operates as a school and can be viewed from outside, with the hilltop location offering a worthwhile vantage point for viewing the structure. The site is accessible by local transport, and the surrounding area provides good opportunities to observe the building and learn about the neighborhood's history.

Local stories mention an underground passage supposedly connecting this structure to distant Golkonda Fort, though this remains unverified and largely forgotten. The site also sits near what were once royal hunting grounds, now absorbed into the modern city.
