Church of Chonchi

The Church of Saint Charles Borromeo stands at the highest point of Chonchi, featuring a stone base, cypress wood construction, and architectural elements typical of Chiloé region.

The religious site traces its origins to 1767 when Jesuits established their first chapel, while the current structure was built in 1893 following regional architectural traditions.

The structure required specific restoration work on its tower after a 2002 storm, with local craftsmen using traditional techniques to rebuild it between 2004 and 2005.
