MGM Cotai
MGM Cotai is a major hotel complex in Macau, China, located in the Cotai reclaimed landfill zone. The structure comprises nine connected box-shaped elements with luminous surfaces, two towers accessed from a central lobby, and a large atrium that creates a sense of openness and flow throughout the building.
The complex was developed by MGM Resorts International during Macau's expansion phase when reclaimed land made new construction possible. It received international architectural awards in 2020 and now stands as a modern milestone in the city's development.
The name MGM Cotai references the MGM corporate group and its location in the reclaimed Cotai zone. The building's striking geometric form immediately catches the eye of visitors and has become a defining landmark in the area's skyline.
The complex is easily accessible from multiple directions, with a prominent arched entry zone and marked entrances for regular and VIP visitors. Internal movement flows through two main lift cores connecting the lobby to upper levels, making navigation straightforward throughout the building.
The building features Asia's first dynamic theater with a shape-shifting structure that allows different types of performances. This innovative entertainment space provides visitors with an experience distinctly different from traditional theater formats.
