Guillermo Tovar de Teresa Museum

The museum displays over 1,000 pieces of Mexican art inside a historic 1910 residence with Victorian gardens and detailed architecture.

The museum opened in December 2018, five years after the passing of Guillermo Tovar de Teresa, who began advising presidents on colonial art at age 13.

The collection includes nineteenth-century portraits, ivory cabinets, and coco chocolateros, including one that belonged to Emperor Maximilian of Mexico.

Located in Mexico City's Roma neighborhood, the museum offers free admission and remains open daily from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

The museum houses Thomas Egerton's lithographs, a British artist who created Mexican landscapes until his death during the North American intervention.
