SkyView Atlanta, Observation wheel in downtown Atlanta, United States.
SkyView Atlanta is a rotating observation wheel in downtown Atlanta with 42 fully enclosed, climate-controlled cabins. Each cabin holds multiple riders and slowly revolves to show the sprawling metropolitan landscape and surrounding areas below.
The observation wheel opened in 2013 next to Centennial Olympic Park, bringing a new draw to downtown after the 1996 Olympics had left their mark on the area. The location was chosen to complement the existing entertainment and cultural spaces nearby.
The observation wheel serves as an educational platform where students learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through direct observation.
The enclosed cabins provide protection from the weather, making visits comfortable throughout the year. Each ride lasts roughly 15 minutes for a complete rotation, giving you plenty of time to observe the landscape and take photos from different angles.
A luxury cabin features Ferrari-inspired leather seats and a transparent floor panel that lets you look straight down while suspended in the air. This special gondola stays aloft for a noticeably extended duration compared to standard rides.
