Agate Beach

You can reach the beach through an underpass beneath Highway 101, with ample parking available for regular vehicles and trailers. Wear sturdy shoes, as the rocky ground can be uneven and slippery when wet.

The agates here formed from ancient volcanic processes and are easiest to spot during morning low tides. Collectors often return repeatedly because of the consistent quality and variety of stones found along this stretch.
