The building served as the main tram maintenance facility for Dortmund's public transport system until its transformation into a cultural center in 2001.
More than forty artists, associations, and creative professionals maintain permanent studios and offices within Kulturort Depot, representing disciplines from architecture to photography.
The facility opens Monday through Thursday from 11:00 to 20:00, Fridays and Saturdays until 22:00, featuring regular exhibitions, theater performances, workshops, and markets.
The winter night flea market combines vintage shopping with live music performances, creating an evening event where visitors explore antiques under artificial lights.
