Hot springs of Bënjë

Bënjë hot springs are natural thermal sources scattered on both sides of the Lengarica River, with eight main springs flowing into the valley. Water temperatures range from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius (73 to 86 Fahrenheit), creating warm pools where the river also flows cold.

These thermal waters have been used for healing since Roman times, when they served as a center for medical treatments. The site has maintained its role as a wellness destination through the centuries, continuously attracting people seeking water cures.

Local families have long shared knowledge about which springs help with different health concerns, and this custom remains part of daily life. Visitors notice how the warm water pools are woven into the routine and beliefs of the people living nearby.

A parking area and camping spaces are available for visitors with vehicles, making it easy to spend time at the site. Walking shoes are recommended since the terrain is uneven and slippery near the water pools.

An old Ottoman stone bridge stands beside the warm pools, adding a touch of history to the natural setting. This bridge has become part of the experience, as many visitors alternate between soaking in warm water and diving into the cold river nearby.
