Nangyuan Island Beach

Nangyuan Island Beach is a sand beach on Ko Tao where three small rocky islands are connected by a thin strip of white sand. This natural formation creates a distinctive bridge-like structure surrounded by turquoise waters.

The beach was a quiet fishing area until diving operations discovered the region in the 1980s and transformed it into a modern tourist destination. This shift fundamentally changed the local economy and the character of the place.

The beach has become a destination for marriage proposals and romantic celebrations, earning it a special place in local wedding culture. Many visitors come specifically to mark important life moments against the backdrop of these connected islands.

The beach is easily reached by small boats from the main Ko Tao shore and offers good swimming conditions during the dry season. Basic facilities are available on-site, so visitors should bring water and sun protection.

The two beach sections separated by the sand ridge experience completely different water conditions and wave patterns, allowing visitors to encounter two distinct aquatic experiences on the same shoreline. This creates a striking contrast in how each side feels and functions during a single visit.
