Cua Tung is a coastal beach in Vinh Linh stretching roughly 14.5 kilometers along the water's edge. The sand is light in color, green pine forests line the back, and red basalt rock formations rise from the shore.
During the Vietnam War, this location was strategically important and lay near the Ben Hai River at the 17th parallel. Its closeness to this geographical boundary made it militarily significant.
Traditional fishing boats return daily to the water's edge, and their activities shape life in the nearby fishing communities. This way of working has been part of the region for many generations.
The beach is accessible throughout the year, with the best visiting conditions between April and October. When planning a visit, keep in mind the area remains quite quiet and does not attract large crowds.
