Lo Gom Bridge

Lo Gom Bridge crosses the Lo Gom Canal in District 6 as part of Vo Van Kiet Boulevard and carries traffic between different parts of the city. The structure includes multiple lanes for vehicles and a separate pedestrian path running alongside the main roadway.

The bridge was built in the 1990s as Ho Chi Minh City modernized its transportation networks. Its construction helped improve traffic flow between residential neighborhoods and commercial zones.

The bridge structure represents a meeting point where local residents gather for morning exercises and evening social activities throughout the year.

The bridge is open to traffic and pedestrians around the clock with adequate lighting for safe passage at night. During rush hours, congestion occurs frequently, so crossing during off-peak times is advisable.

An 80-centimeter alligator was spotted swimming in the canal beneath the bridge in January 2022 and later relocated to Saigon Botanical Garden. The unexpected sighting reminded locals that wild animals still inhabit the waterways running through their neighborhoods.
