Misión de San José

Misión de San José is a church complex built with stone, featuring a bell tower and mortuary chapel spread across the grounds. The property also includes workshop buildings and support structures that complete the mission compound.

The mission was established in 1698 to accommodate and teach the local population of the region. It served as an important center for evangelization during the colonial period.

The mission complex shows how European building styles mixed with local craftsmanship, visible in the stonework and overall layout. Visitors can observe how the architecture adapted to local conditions and needs.
