Commonwealth is a two-story building in downtown Las Vegas with a ground-floor lounge and a rooftop bar on top. The rooftop terrace provides views of the city skyline, neon signs, and mountain ranges surrounding the downtown area.
The building opened in 2012 as part of the Fremont East entertainment district's revitalization period. It emerged when downtown was beginning to attract new venues and draw visitors back to the older casino area.
The Laundry Room inside maintains Prohibition-era cocktail traditions with carefully made drinks in a private, members-only setting. Guests experience an older approach to bartending that focuses on technique and quality ingredients rather than flashy presentations.
The rooftop area is the main attraction for most visitors, and the venue is within walking distance of downtown attractions. The Laundry Room speakeasy requires a reservation and should be booked ahead of time.
The rooftop becomes an open-air dance floor under string lights with a clear view of the classic El Cortez sign and the glowing Fremont Street below. This setting combines modern partying with views of downtown's older landmarks.
