Cavaña, Rooftop bar in Mission Bay, San Francisco, United States.
Cavaña is a rooftop bar perched on the Luma Hotel with views of San Francisco's skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sutro Tower. The space has retractable glass doors and heating for year-round use, with a focus on mezcal and rum from Latin America.
The bar opened in 2024 as a new project by an experienced restaurateur who previously managed other notable rooftop venues in the city. It was created to fill a gap for high-quality drinking destinations at this elevation, which are uncommon in San Francisco.
The space celebrates Latin American traditions through music and art that reflect the region's diversity. The food and drink selection draws directly from Peru, Mexico, and Venezuela, bringing these places to life through authentic flavors and local ingredients.
The venue is easy to reach via a dedicated elevator that goes directly to the rooftop level. Heating and retractable glass doors make it accessible in any weather, and the open space feels spacious without feeling empty.
The cocktails here blend spirits from Bolivia and Venezuela with local ingredients like coconut and coffee flavors. Two brothers developed the drinks while focusing on lesser-known spirits from the region that are hard to find elsewhere.
