Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock is a summit in the Santa Monica Mountains that rises 596 meters above sea level and is composed of sandstone formations. The rock mass displays natural arches and alcoves carved into the sandstone structure.

The rock formation held importance for indigenous peoples living in the San Rafael Valley before European settlement in the late 18th century. The area later developed into a popular hiking destination and viewpoint for the growing city of Los Angeles.
