The First Church of Cannabis operates from a former Christian church building on South Rural Street in Indianapolis, conducting weekly services each Wednesday.
Bill Levin established the First Church of Cannabis on March 26, 2015, as a response to Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act implementation.
The church follows a set of guidelines called the Deity Dozen, which emphasizes treating everyone with love and maintaining respectful behavior in online interactions.
Members can join the church community by paying annual dues of $54, with monthly payment options available at $4.20 per month.
The founder, who calls himself Grand Poobah, states he developed the concept for the church while watching episodes of The Flintstones television series.
