World Trade Center, Observation deck in Downtown Manhattan, United States
The World Trade Center is a building complex in Lower Manhattan whose main tower houses a public observation deck. It spans three floors near the top and offers views in all directions across the city.
The observation deck opened in 2015 after the original site was rebuilt following the attacks of September 2001. It is part of a larger complex that gradually took shape on the same location.
The elevator ride upward shows a time-lapse projection that traces how the city grew from early settlements to today. Visitors watch the skyline rise around them as they ascend, layer by layer.
The deck is open daily from early morning to late evening, with a separate entrance at West and Vesey Street where all visitors pass through security screening. The upper levels are reached by elevator that rises directly from ground level.
The windows use digital technology that recognizes visible landmarks and provides information about neighborhoods through interactive displays. Visitors can explore each part of the city in greater detail while looking through the glass.
