Grove Isle, Private island in Coconut Grove, Miami, United States
Grove Isle is a private island in Biscayne Bay with three residential towers containing approximately 500 apartments. The buildings rise 18 stories and offer water views from multiple sides of the island.
The island formed in the 1920s through dredging operations and was originally called Fair Isle before receiving its current name. It later developed into a residential complex that became part of Miami's waterfront landscape.
The buildings display Asian design elements in their appearance, creating a visual contrast to other residential developments along Miami's waterfront. This design choice shapes how the place looks and feels when you visit.
The island is private and not open to the public, so you cannot freely walk around the grounds. Your best view of it comes from the water or from the nearby shoreline and waterfront areas.
Although the island is now fully developed, it was created from water through dredging less than a century ago. This artificial origin is little known and makes it an interesting example of how cities shape their waterfronts.
