1 Clinton Street, Modern residential building in Brooklyn Heights, US

1 Clinton Street is a 36-story condominium tower, 409 feet (125 m) tall, with a triangular footprint that creates three facades facing the harbor, Midtown Manhattan, and brownstone Brooklyn. Its gridded limestone facade was designed by Marvel Architects. The base houses a three-story Brooklyn Public Library branch with its own entrance at 286 Cadman Plaza West, plus a STEM lab and retail space.

The building was completed in 2020 on the site of a former library branch that had served the community since 1962. The development replaced that earlier facility with a new structure combining residential and public services.

The library entrance at 286 Cadman Plaza West leads into a three-story branch with a children's area, a community room with kitchenette and stage, and a mezzanine for teenagers. Two bas-reliefs by Clemente Spampinato from the 1962 library are set into the conference room walls; the other four went to the Walt Whitman library garden.

The library entrance is at 286 Cadman Plaza West, separate from the residential lobby; the branch occupies the lower three floors. The building stands on the west side of Cadman Plaza Park, with three facades facing the harbor, Manhattan and brownstone Brooklyn. The library was temporarily housed at 109 Remsen Street during construction.

Six bas-reliefs by Italian sculptor Clemente Spampinato adorned the old library facade. Two were set into the walls of the new library's conference rooms, and the other four went to the garden of the Walt Whitman branch in Fort Greene.
