Landmark Square, Skyscraper in downtown Stamford, United States.
Landmark Square is a 22-story office building in downtown Stamford rising approximately 295 feet (90 meters) tall. The structure features curved and rounded architectural elements that create a distinctive modern profile against the city skyline.
The building was completed in the 1970s and held the title of tallest structure on the coast between New York City and Boston until 1990. After that period, taller buildings were constructed in the region, though it remains a significant landmark in Stamford's skyline.
The plaza holds an annual December celebration with lights and holiday decorations, where Santa Claus rappels down the building's exterior. This has become a gathering point where locals and visitors come together for seasonal festivities.
The building contains office spaces, shops, and restaurants accessible to the public at ground level. It is well-connected to public transportation and easy to reach on foot from downtown Stamford's main streets.
Architect Victor Hanna Bisharat designed the facade with scalloped arches that resemble shells, giving the building an organic appearance. This curved design makes it visually distinct from the more angular office towers common in many cities.
