Lojing Viaduct, Highway bridge in Lojing Highlands, Malaysia
The Lojing Viaduct is a highway bridge in the Lojing Highlands that spans the Chenderoh River with a double box girder structure. It connects the eastern and western regions of Malaysia by cutting through the Titiwangsa Mountains.
The Malaysian Public Works Department and Cergas Murni Sdn Bhd built this structure, which opened to traffic in 2005 as part of the Second East-West Highway. The project was designed to provide a critical transport connection between previously isolated areas of the country.
The bridge connects the communities of the Lojing Highlands within the Titiwangsa Mountains, enabling social and economic exchanges between previously separated regions of Malaysia.
The bridge is maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department and Gua Musang Roadcare Sdn Bhd as part of an active transport corridor. You can observe it from nearby roads and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains while traveling through the highlands.
Until 2018, when the Rawang Bypass opened, the Lojing Viaduct held the distinction of being the highest bridge in Malaysia, standing as an engineering achievement.
