Vegueta District

Located along the Peruvian coast, Vegueta District spans 257 square kilometers at an elevation of 12 meters above sea level.

Established by Law R. 273 on August 23, 1920, during President Augusto Leguia's administration, Vegueta became an essential part of Peru's territorial organization.

The district celebrates San Juan Bautista from June 22 to 25 with traditional ceremonies, local music performances, and community gatherings.

Residents can access municipal services at the district headquarters on Calle Tarapaca N° 101, where administrative procedures are processed.

The district includes the Albuferas de Medio Mundo lagoons, which provide natural habitats for various species and recreational spaces for visitors.
