Dubai City Tower is a proposed skyscraper in the Emirate of Dubai designed to reach 2,400 meters across 400 floors. The project was meant to be one of the world's most ambitious construction undertakings, though it never advanced beyond the planning stage.
The design was unveiled on 25 August 2008 as part of the Jumeirah Garden City project, when Dubai was planning large construction ventures. The tower was never built, and at 2,400 metres it would have stood about three times the height of the Burj Khalifa.
The design was inspired by the Eiffel Tower to resist wind loads, with a central core running the full height and six towers wrapping it and meeting the core every 100 floors. A main elevator system was planned to move at 200 km/h.
The location sits in Dubai's main development zone near other large construction projects. Since the building was never constructed, there is no on-site access for visitors.
