St. Joseph's Cathedral, Abu Dhabi

St. Joseph's Cathedral features modern architectural elements with stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes and a spacious altar for religious ceremonies.

The first church structure was constructed in 1962 on land donated by Sheikh Shakhbut, followed by the current cathedral complex inauguration in 1983.

The cathedral provides religious services in multiple languages, serving over 100,000 Catholic expatriates from various Asian countries residing in Abu Dhabi.

The cathedral complex includes meeting rooms, parking facilities, and event spaces that accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers for regular services.

Pope Francis made a special visit to St. Joseph's Cathedral in February 2019, meeting with altar servers and members of the local community.
