The museum is an art house in Yerevan dedicated to two outstanding Armenian artists: sculptor Ara Sargsyan and painter Hakob Kojoyan. The first floor holds around 360 sculptures, while the second floor displays around 210 paintings and designs.
The building was constructed in 1935 according to plans by architect Varazdat Arevshatyan and initially served as a residence for both artists. In 1973, it was converted into a museum to make their works accessible to the public.
The collection shows portrait sculptures of Armenian intellectuals, paintings, and stage designs that reflect the artistic thinking of both masters. Visitors can see personal items and working notes that offer insight into their creative practice.
The museum is located downtown on Pushkin Street and is open Tuesday through Sunday. Guided tours are available in Armenian, English, and Russian to help visitors understand the works and their significance.
The original studios of both artists have been preserved within the museum, showing the spaces as they appeared during their creative years. Visitors can see the tools, materials, and arrangement of workspaces that give a direct impression of their daily artistic practice.
