Royal Tulip Grand Hotel Yerevan, cultural heritage monument of Armenia
Royal Tulip Grand Hotel Yerevan is a hotel in the city center facing Charles Aznavour Square with easy walking access to theaters, galleries, and Republic Square. The building holds 104 rooms with modern furnishings, a restaurant serving Italian and Armenian dishes, spa services, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, plus multiple bars and lounges for guests.
The building was constructed from 1926 to 1928 by architect Nikolai Buniatian, Yerevan's first chief architect, and was the city's first large structure of its kind. It underwent renovation by an Italian company in 1999 and comprehensive modernization in 2009 while preserving its classical exterior character.
The hotel has shaped Yerevan's cityscape for nearly a century and sits at Charles Aznavour Square, a central gathering point in the city. It represents how Armenian hospitality traditions blend with modern service standards that visitors experience today.
The hotel sits centrally with walking distance to major sights including the Cascade, Opera House, and National Museum. Its location also provides easy access to cafes and shops, and it is a short drive from the airport.
The building was originally designed in 1926 as the tallest structure in the growing city of Yerevan and was visible from distant locations. Several rooms bear names of famous Armenian artists and cultural figures, reflecting the property's deep connection to Armenian history.
