Porcelana, Thermal springs destination in Los Lagos Region, Chile
The settlement features natural geysers that release water and steam jets reaching temperatures of 90 degrees Celsius near Caleta Porcelana.
The thermal waters were first documented in 1891 by explorer Ramón Serrano Montaner, who noted their high temperatures in his work 'Derrotero'.
The thermal pools gained literary recognition through their inclusion in the novel 'Señales del Dresden' by Martín Pérez Ibarra.
Access to the geothermal sites requires maritime transportation through Comau fjord, with private services operating from the town of Hornopirén.
The locality contains deposits of white kaolin clay, which contributed to its name and represents a geological connection to porcelain production.
