Palacio Larraín, Art Nouveau palace in Santiago, Chile.
Palacio Larraín is a three-story mansion situated at the corner of Moneda and Cienfuegos streets with elaborate Art Nouveau design throughout. The building contains numerous rooms and bathrooms, a prominent mansard roof, and a dome crowning the roofline.
The building was designed in 1913 by architect Gustavo Mönckeberg as a residence for Juan Francisco Larraín Alcalde. The family came from prominent Chilean circles, with roots reaching back to José Patricio Larraín Gandarillas.
From 2002 to 2003, thirteen artists from different disciplines formed the KUTRALTUM collective, living and exhibiting their work within the palace walls.
The mansion is located at 1898 Moneda Street and sits just a short walk from Los Heroes subway station. Its central location makes it convenient to visit alongside other landmarks in the area.
The initials 'FL' of the owner remain visible on the front facade. Locals gave the building the nickname 'Titanic' because of its imposing size.
