Teatro Carrera, Historic theater in Concha y Toro district, Santiago, Chile

The Teatro Carrera stands as a four-story concrete building with classical tile mosaics adorning its three facades in central Santiago.

Built in 1926 on the former front garden of Concha-Cazotte Palace, the theater opened in 1927 with a premiere screening of 'You Will Remember Me'.

The theater introduced sound cinema technology to Chile and provided entertainment for 1500 spectators in its semicircular seating arrangement.

The building now houses a Chinese restaurant, located on Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Avenue between Maturana and Concha y Toro streets.

Artist Aristodemo Lattanzi created detailed tile mosaics that decorate each of the three building facades, preserving the original architectural elements.
