Casa Maroto, Historical monument in La Reina, Chile
Casa Maroto features a three-story Italian architectural design from the early 19th century, spanning 354 square meters at the intersection of Ossa Avenue and Hanover Street.
Rafael Maroto Hurtado, grandson of the royalist general from the Battle of Chacabuco, constructed this residence in 1920 and later donated it to the Chilean Red Cross.
The building now functions as a cultural center housing the Santiago Jazz Club, offering music performances and community events since October 2013.
Mall Plaza currently manages the property, integrating cultural activities with commercial operations while maintaining its historical architectural elements.
The restoration project included handcrafting 1,500 tiles by artisans who matched the original colors and materials to preserve the building's authenticity.
