Cerro Provincia

Cerro Provincia rises to 2,750 meters above sea level, featuring a stone shelter at its peak and offering views of Santiago and the Andes mountains.

The mountain trail system developed in response to increasing recreational demands from Santiago residents seeking outdoor activities in the early 20th century.

The summit serves as a meeting point for local mountaineers who gather regularly to maintain trails and document wildlife observations in the Andes region.

The ascent takes between 5 to 7 hours, requires registration at the entrance, costs 1,500 Chilean pesos, and demands at least three liters of water per person.

The trail includes a section with fixed iron chains for climbing, followed by Alto del Naranjo area, where a single prominent tree marks the landscape.
