Rioja Palace

Rioja Palace is a museum in Viña del Mar featuring French neoclassical architecture located along Quillota Street. The building contains grand halls, ornate interior spaces, and expansive gardens spread across multiple levels.

The palace began as a residence for the Rioja family in the early 1900s. It became a decorative arts museum in 1979 to preserve Chilean cultural heritage.

The palace holds furniture, textiles, and decorations from Spain and France that reflect how Chile's wealthy lived around 1900. Walking through the rooms, you see how these imported pieces shaped the home life of the upper class during that era.

The museum is located between 3rd and 4th North Streets and opens Tuesday through Sunday. It operates with two daily sessions, making it straightforward to fit a visit into your schedule.

Visitors have reported hearing mysterious piano music at night echoing through the empty halls of the palace. This unexplained phenomenon has become part of the building's folklore among those who explore it after dark.
