Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, Viña del Mar

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores is a stone building displaying Romanesque Revival features, marked by rounded arches and thick walls that convey strength and permanence. It occupies a prominent location at the intersection of Alvares Street and Plaza Eduardo Grove in the city center.

An original chapel was built in 1871 by Dolores Pérez but was destroyed after the 1906 earthquake that devastated the region. The current structure was designed by architect Emilio Jecquier and represents the city's religious renewal following this natural disaster.
