Iglesia de Lourdes, Viña del Mar

The church structure incorporates a dedicated grotto beside the main building where a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes stands for devotional purposes.

Mercedes Toro de Rodriguez commissioned a Virgin of Lourdes statue in 1886 after her daughter recovered from illness, initiating local devotion to this figure.

The Passionist Fathers maintain this religious center since 1888, conducting regular masses and ceremonies for the Catholic community of Valparaíso region.

The church stands on San José Oriente street, also known as Agua Santa, providing regular religious services throughout the week for visitors and residents.

The 1913 grotto installation next to the church creates a specific space for prayer and reflection, following the architectural vision of Tomás Eastman.
