Castillo Ross

Castillo Ross is a Tudor-style castle perched on Cerro Castillo in Viña del Mar, featuring tall towers and narrow corridors that reflect medieval western design. The building combines period stone work with interior spaces typical of early 20th-century residential castles.

Built in 1921 under architect Alberto Cruz Montt, the castle originally served as the home of businessman Gustavo Ross Santa María. Decades later, it transitioned to community use and has remained in that role ever since.

The building houses the Arab Union Club since 1967 and features a garden walkway dedicated to the Arab poet Gibran Khalil Gibran in its grounds.

Public access to the castle is limited, but opens on a specific day each year for visitors to explore. Check in advance when this day occurs, as it follows a fixed schedule in May.

The castle contains a bathroom clad in Carrara marble with a remarkably large bathtub nicknamed Cleopatra for its exceptional proportions. This luxurious fixture remains from the original period when the building served as a private residence.
