Playa El Sol

Playa El Sol is a public beach on the Pacific coast in Viña del Mar with about 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) of unbroken sand. The shore stretches north of the Vergara pier and includes restrooms, restaurants, and food vendors throughout the area.

The beach underwent major renovation work in 2009 as part of a larger coastal development project to improve the waterfront. These improvements shaped the appearance of this popular seaside destination today.

Local artisans and booksellers set up stalls along the shore, offering visitors a chance to discover Chilean crafts and literature. The beach reflects how residents naturally gather for leisure and social activities throughout the day.

The beach is easily accessible from a pedestrian promenade and is well maintained for comfortable visits. It is best to go early in the day, especially in warmer months, to avoid crowds and find quieter spots.

The beach connects directly to neighboring coastal areas and forms a continuous shoreline. Visitors can walk northward from central Viña del Mar and pass through multiple different beaches without having to backtrack on the same routes.
