Mundomágico, Miniature park in Lo Prado, Santiago, Chile
Mundomágico was a themed park that displayed small-scale replicas of Chile's natural and architectural landmarks in miniature form. The entire grounds were connected through various exhibition areas accessible by a dedicated train system that moved guests around the site.
The park opened on July 7, 1983 and operated for approximately 18 years before closing in 2001. During this period, it developed into a major recreational destination for families throughout the Santiago area.
The place was home to a popular children's television show that aired from 1991 to 2001, featuring characters such as Willy the Bear. These characters became part of local childhood memories for many Santiago residents and connected television viewing directly to visiting the location.
The grounds were quite large and the best way to explore them was to use the train system that regularly traveled through the different exhibition areas. It was a practical option for visiting all sections without spending excessive time walking between them.
The park featured famous Chilean locations such as Morro de Arica and the National Stadium, all shrunk to a comparable scale. This made it possible to experience a tour through Chile's notable places in just a few hours.
