Museo Interactivo Mirador, Science museum in La Granja, Chile
The Museo Interactivo Mirador spans across 7,000 square meters, featuring over 350 interactive modules focused on scientific phenomena and natural discoveries.
The museum opened in March 2000 under President Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle's administration, establishing itself as a reference point for scientific museums in Latin America.
The museum building combines concrete, wood, glass, and copper in its brutalist architecture, which received recognition at the 2000 Chilean Architecture and Urbanism Biennial.
Visitors can access the museum Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with tickets available online.
The facility incorporates specialized zones dedicated to mechanisms, fluids, earth sciences, microbiology, neuroscience, light, energy, genetics, and electromagnetism studies.
