San Nicolás Partido, Administrative division in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina
San Nicolás Partido is an administrative district along the western bank of the Paraná River in the northern section of Buenos Aires Province. The area spreads across flat terrain dotted with several smaller settlements and includes a port with commercial shipping activity.
The district was created on December 31, 1778, when Viceroy Pedro de Cevallos established it as an administrative division in the northern part of Buenos Aires Province. Its formation was part of the Spanish colonial reorganization of the region.
The House of the San Nicolás Agreement stands here as a national museum displaying how Argentina's constitution came together. It draws people interested in the country's foundational political story.
The area connects well to other regions through the Rosario-Buenos Aires Highway and has good land transportation links. The port makes it possible to reach and explore the region by water as well.
The area includes several distinct settlements such as Campos Salles, Conesa, Erézcano, General Rojo, La Emilia, and Villa Esperanza. Each of these smaller towns has its own character and adds to the diversity across the district.
